How Did Blazin Bottles Come Into Existence?

This company primarily started as a hobby for my father and I in an attempt to get him out of bed and moving around more. After 22 years in the Marine Corps, my father was forced to retire as a First Sergeant due to severe health complications. It was these same health complications that eventually led him to a life of being dependent on the use of a wheelchair to get around. Because of his disabilities, it has also been no secret that he smokes to relieve pain. It is because of his smoking that eventually led us down a road that would become known as Blazin Bottles!

When I asked my father about what he currently smoked from, he showed me a several year old, hand blown pipe that was quite small. When I asked if he had ever heard of a steamroller he just shrugged and said “no I haven’t, but we can go out and look for one if you would like?” So the next day we went out and found a glass shop and eventually stumbled upon a steamroller. The steamroller that was purchased was a hand blown piece, it was about 10 inches long and contained a measly 3.5 oz chamber. This single pipe cost us $60 (it was on sale, marked down from $80)

After multiple days of smoking from this steamroller we began to notice several flaws, the bowl was large and required that we used a lot of product every time we wanted to use it, and it was extremely hard to clean!

As my father and I began discussing the flaws with this steamroller, we began brainstorming on how we could correct the issues. It just so happened that the day before, we had bought a couple of Glass Bottle Coke’s from the store, and they were sitting in front of us during this discussion. In the middle of our discussion my father picked up his coke bottle and made the comment “It’s too bad they don’t make steamrollers that are the size of this Coke bottle, it sure would make for one hell of a hit!”

It was after this conversation that we began searching and scouring the web for anything similar to what was described. To no avail, we couldn’t find a single representation of what was discussed earlier. Once we realized that nobody had ever built such a thing, we decided to take it upon ourselves and begin the prototyping process!

After many broken bottles, 40 prototypes, 6 different bowl variations, and 12 different carb sizes, we finally settled on what was to become a Blazin Bottle!

After we soft launched our product on March 4th, we created social media accounts in an attempt to connect with current smokers. At the first week mark we begun sending out several promotional units to see how seasoned smokers would react. Upon our discussions with the promotional testers, we were constantly met with statements such as “This is one of the best pipes I have ever used!” and “Truly a unique pipe that packs one hell of a punch!” It was with the support from several different users that we decided it was best that we transition from a hobby to a business!
